Meet Our Staff
Our Nurses
Two nurses will support you at Comprehensive Infertility Services, each having greater than 10 years of experience in the field of infertility.

Mickey Schaefermeier, RNC, graduated from the Barnes Hospital School of Nursing and holds a certification in both Reproductive Endocrinology and In-Patient OB. Her responsibilities include patient care and education, in addition to serving as the IVF Coordinator.
Carolyn Tucker, RNC, graduated from the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center School of Nursing and holds a certification in In-Patient OB. Her responsibilities include patient care and education and insurance coverage verification. She will review with you the infertility benefits once verification is complete.
The nurses provide high quality patient care and strive for individual attention. One of their primary responsibilities is patient education. They feel it is very important that the infertile couple understand their medical issues, reasons for testing, surgeries and possible outcomes. They also take care to address all of your questions as they arise. Carolyn and Mickey recognize how difficult this process may be for you and offer their support during your time with us. They hope to get to know you and allow you to get to know them on an individual basis.
Our Laboratory

Chris Mackie, MT(ASCP), runs the laboratory and processes semen samples for intrauterine insemination. Chris received her BS in Medical Microbiology from California State University at Long Beach and is an ASCP licensed Medical Technologist. She has a wide range of experience in both hospital and reference laboratories.
Our Receptionist
Our receptionist is Donna Manning. She will be the friendly face you see when you come for an appointment. Donna also accepts payments and can answer questions about insurance, referrals and account balances.
Our Secretary

Your initial contact with this office will be with our secretary, Sharon Coogan. Sharon has worked with Dr. Witten for more than 20 years. She will set up your appointment as a new patient and guide you through the necessary steps to make your first visit as productive as possible. In preparation, you will be mailed a packet of information and questionnaires that you should fill out and return within five days. Prior to your first appointment, please remember to have your medical records sent to our office. Sharon is also responsible for transcribing dictation and scheduling all surgeries and procedures that are performed outside of our office.
